Discover Fuego Wood Fired Ovens

The pizza oven hand-made from ancient fire clay

Fuego ovens are made with real artistry and passion. Artisan wood fired pizza oven manufacturers create each original Spanish outdoor wood fired pizza oven by hand and bespoke to your personal specifications.

The quality of every Fuego wood fired pizza oven lies in the hand-shaped dome made from ancient fire clay, known for its refractory qualities since Roman times. It is this unique red fire clay that makes a Fuego pizza oven stand out from any other pizza oven or wood burning oven on the market.

The incredible heat retaining quality of our fire clay allows every Fuego wood fired pizza oven to reach an optimal cooking temperature much faster. In fact, our clay makes the internal dome heat up in as little as 20 minutes, whilst retaining its temperature for longer, saving both fuel and time.

Each Fuego oven is custom built in the Castile region of Spain, famed for centuries for its fire clay and craftsmanship. You specify the size, type of door and finishing, making each Fuego oven a truly unique wood burning oven.

Cook with Fuego

Cook with true Fuego flair

Cooking in a Fuego outdoor wood fired pizza oven is fast, easy and highly entertaining.

You simply bring the rustic wood fired pizza oven to its maximum temperature, then allow it to adjust until it hits your ideal cooking temperature. This is called regulating the oven. The ideal cooking temperature will obviously depend on what you’re intending to cook.

A Fuego commercial wood fired oven also gives you the creative freedom of multiple cooking methods, even simultaneously. From authentic pizza baking, to roasting or barbecuing your favourite foods. Pan cooking mussels over hot coals and slow cooking your favourite stew to simply giving a touch of smoke to your food – the combinations and usability you can get out of a Fuego outdoor wood fired pizza oven are endless.

Entirely bespoke. Absolutely artisan.

Every Fuego wood fired oven is hand-made by craftsmen and highly personal to its owner.

If you’re dreaming of a garden pizza oven or need a commercial wood fired pizza oven, you can specify everything from its size to its finish and even the type of door you prefer.

After placing your order, traditional artisan craftsmen in the Castile region of Spain set to work hand-forming your Fuego oven using high-refractory fire clay that is unique to the area. Built on a solid concrete base, they shape the clay dome by hand and then insulate it.

Next you select the the outer finish which complements your personality and style. Choose from a traditional white or terracotta render, brick or stone. We also offer a choice of three coloured mosaic tiles finishes – Black, Andalusian or Volcanico.

Finally, you decide what type of oven door you require and also select the chimney, chimney cap and cover. We also offer a wide range of cooking accessories too including oven tools, pizza peel, and cookware.

Decisions, decisions.

DEFRA Certified pizza ovens

Now the serious bit. Councils are now more than ever paying attention to solid fuel burning in smoke controlled areas. Failure to present evidence of a DEFRA certified commercial pizza oven in a commercial environment could lead to immediate shutdown, large fines and eventually oven removal.

DEFRA Certified

Fuego, who are domestic and commercial wood fired pizza oven distributors in the UK, possess the certification to enable wood to be burnt in their ovens throughout the UK and have been classified as “exempt” for use in smoke control areas when burning a non-authorised fuel or fuels.

Any solid fuel combustion appliance burning a non-authorised fuel requires exemption before use in UK smoke control areas.

Under the Clean Air Act 1993 local authorities may declare the whole, or part, of the district of the authority to be a smoke control area. It is an offence to emit smoke from a chimney of a building, from a furnace or from any fixed boiler if located in a designated smoke control area.

It is also an offence to acquire an “unauthorised fuel” for use within a smoke control area unless it is used in an “exempt” appliance (“exempted” from the controls which generally apply in the smoke control area). Further information on the requirements of the Clean Air Act can be downloaded below.

In England appliances are exempted by publication on a list by the Secretary of State in accordance with changes made to sections 20 and 21 of the Clean Air Act 1993 by section 15 of the Deregulation Act 2015. In Scotland appliances are exempted by publication on a list by Scottish Ministers under section 50 of the Regulatory Reform (Scotland) Act 2014.

My Fuego wood fired pizza oven...

“Our Fuego wood oven has transformed our restaurant! As a piece of kit, it is extremely versatile and controllable, allowing us to roast all of our meats and vegetables in the wood burning oven as well as using it as a charcoal grill during service. The flavour of everything coming out of the Fuego clay pizza oven is incredible due to the amazing smoky, charred tones added to the smell and taste of everything that’s cooked in it. It is not expensive to run as all the kiln-dried wood we use heats the wood fired pizza oven pretty quickly and it retains its temperature really well, only needing to add logs to the fire a few times over the course of service.”
